What is the age limit to be a policyholder?

To purchase a policy you need to be over the age of 16. Please note that if you wish to pay monthly, the direct debit needs to be set up by someone (a relative) who is over the age of 18.

I am not a business, can I still buy a policy with you?

Yes, we can provide you with an insurance policy even if you are not making any money from providing animal related services.

What factors might affect the policy premium?

Your annual turnover, wages paid to your employees, the additional covers you choose, your occupation and any previous claims are all factors that may affect your annual policy premium.

Am I insured to work with banned breeds?

We can provide cover for you if you are working with banned breeds such as XL Bullies. However, please note that specific endorsements will apply to your policy so please read your documents carefully or speak to a member of the team.

Am I insured to take on work experience students?

We can provide you with cover if you wish to take on work experience students as long as you adhere to the young workers guidelines as set out by the government. Please note this would incur an additional premium.

Can you cover my equipment?

We are able to provide cover for your business equipment, which can be added to your policy at any time during the policy year. We would require the rebuilding and/or the replacement value of the buildings/contents you are wishing to insure. Please note this would incur an additional premium.

Can I add cover to my policy?

You can increase the limits and add cover to your policy at any point during the policy year. To see what optional cover we offer please have a look at our optional extras document. Please note this may incur an additional premium.

Do you insure animals that are subject to the DWAA?

Unfortunately we are unable to provide cover for animals that are scheduled under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act.

Do you sell pet insurance?

We do not sell pet insurance. We only insure animal related businesses.

What are the payment options?

If your policy is one which can be bought online, you will be able to set-up a direct debit or pay in full via our website. Alternatively, we are able to take card payments or set up a direct debit over the phone. We can also accept cheques or provide an invoice for a BACS payment.

Will my policy automatically renew?

No, we do not automatically renew our policies. You will receive a renewal invitation from us approximately 21 days prior to your policy renewal date. Please note, we need to receive renewal instructions and a payment from yourself to renew your policy.

How can I renew my policy?

Many of our customers are now able to renew their policy online. You can do this by following the link in your renewal invite email or by logging into the online portal on our website.

Alternatively, if you need to make changes or discuss your policy you can contact our office and a member of the team will be happy to help.

For our customers who can't yet renew their policy online, you can continue to complete the renewal declaration included within your renewal invitation or call the office to speak to a member of our team.

How can I make a claim?

To make a claim please contact our office either via email at info@cliverton.co.uk or call us on 01328 857921, Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm. You can also submit a claim through our website, clicking on the ‘Make a Claim’ button in the top right-hand corner.

How can I cancel my policy?

To cancel your policy please contact our office either via email at cancel@cliverton.co.uk or call us on 01328 857921, Mon-Fri, 9-5 and a member of staff will be able to help.
