This insurance policy is suitable for those looking to cover their public liability for running pony parties. It is not suitable for those looking to run a licensed riding school or cover vet fees for their ponies.
There are two main types of insurance you need if you run a pony party business. Both are included in this insurance policy.
Public liability – this public liability cover will protect you from any legal liability which may arise from the actions of you or an employee resulting in injury to a third party or damage to their property. We can offer cover up to a limit of £5 million, but this can be extended to £10 million for an additional premium.
Products liability – will cover your legal liability up to £5 million for injury, loss or damage caused by products used by you for your client.
This policy will cover public liability for those running pony parties with their own ponies from their own property or at an external venue. Ridden cover for walking on lead rein is available at an additional premium.
Employers’ liability – if you have paid, voluntary or self-employed helpers working for your business, you are legally required to have this insurance as this will provide cover should they suffer an injury while at work. The amount of cover provided is £10 million.
Legal expenses - this is designed to protect you from unexpected legal costs arising from business risks. Find out more.
Equipment and property – we can cover your business’ property and equipment, from small items to large.

I’m Scarlett and I’m 28 years old and have lived in Norfolk my whole life. I currently work within the equine department here at Cliverton and have grown up around horses since a child which has really helped me understand the needs of our customers.
In my spare time, I ride horses, walk my dogs (Rolo & Arnie), study for a psychology degree at university and enjoy reading.
